Windows 8 Pro OEM Download ISO: Where to Find and How to Use the Media Creation Tools

Hi Experts out there, need some good advise. How do I go about downloading Win8 OEM ISO 64bits that comes with all my HP notebooks? I tried to download Win8 ISO from Microsoft but upon supplying the key, it says the key is for Win8 OEM license, not to use with Win8 retail version and not given the option to download.

You can't download the "official" HP Windows 8 image. The "official" HP image can be created using the HP Recovery Manager that is included with each of your computers. This will make the HP Recovery Media needed to return your computers to a factory like state.

If you have a valid MSDN Subsciption, you can download "en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso" from MSDN Subscriber Downloads. Download this file and burn the ISO image to a DVD or USB stick. Set the BIOS to use UEFI, enable "Secure Boot" and disable "Legacy Support... if these options are present. Boot from this disk and install Windows 8. It should register as an official copy and use the key embedded in the BIOS. Please note that no HP customizations nor HP value-added software will be installed using this method.

So, if you want to clean install Windows 8.1, you need to input the Windows 8.1 install key to accomplish the Windows installation, after that you can try to activate your system by network or Phone. Meanwhile, I want to know did you got any Windows 8.1 product key when you download Windows 8.1 from TechNet? If so, you can try to use them when you install Windows 8.1.

I am using Jelly beans 2.0.10.9 for the wind 8.1 key. The key matches my email records. The windows setupbox needed to fix a win 8.1 problem possibly caused by an automated update, that in turn causes my win 8.1 to be in a automatic repair loop fails to accept the key.. Seems no easy solution, so may have to go back to Windows 7. For some really really dumb reason, MSFT gives you nothing that works and the email trails I have read for 5 hours today confirm they have a HUGE problem. My next computer will be an APPLE. Can not take this anymore. Hope you never get into the death spiral when win 8.1 decides it is in automatic repair.....

You also won't be hacked or harmed for activating a Windows 8 or 8.1 key, as long as you don't use third-party software for activation. Third-party apps often carry malware in them, making it unsafe to download and operate something like a "Windows 8 product key generator".

Hi, I bought a new Dell Inspiron with a Bios Win 8 product key. the problem is that for some reason, this key is blocked. Dell gave me a new key which works but every 15 mins or so, the msg to activate windows comes up. When I checked in system, I can see that Windows somehow goes back to the blocked bios key. I have to activate it every 15 mins!! How can I solve this? Can I replace the blocked bios key with the new key I have which works? thanks Nick

Hi, I upgraded from win 7 pro to 10. My laptop worked fine for weeks, then refused to start windows one morning. I tried the repairs available (advanced options, etc). I then downloaded the ISO file for win 10, that contains all the win 10 versions, I retrieved the win 10 pro product key from my drive, but during the win 10 installation it says the the key is invalid. Can anyone advise me, please. Thank you.

A product riddled with problems.When an update of windows TEN is done,some of my progremmes simply disappear.On windows 8 I never had any problems whatsoever.The latest problem .I cannot link to my printer. Got an expert in at great cost,he managed the link but as soon as the computer is switched off,that`s it,no more link.My ONLY alternative now is to go back to windows 8 until your team sort out all the crap on the system.

question then say that i have 2 desktops and 3 hard drives all of them have windows and i take harddrive 3 and make it windows 10 from windows 7 on computer b and then go to computer a and launch the hardrive on it useing its windows 10 why does it now say windows 10 is not activated because that happened to my 1tb that is windows 10 home please help

I previously had a windows 7 home premium original copy which I did bought spending my money. It worked well. After win 10 launch I could successfully upgrade to windows 10 and the copy got activated automatically. There were talks around saying Microsoft is giving away free windows activation this time. So i made a USB copy of windows 10 PRO in to my flash drive and I DID A CLEAN INSTALL FROM THAT VERY COPY. Now I have Windows 10 PRO not activated. I cannot activate this using my windows 7 home premium product key. PLEASE HELP!

I start with a brief introduction into Window licensing and have put together my recommended mechanisms for downloading Windows installation media and activating your product depending on your license type.if(typeof ez_ad_units != 'undefined')ez_ad_units.push([[300,250],'dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-medrectangle-3','ezslot_0',131,'0','0']);__ez_fad_position('div-gpt-ad-dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-medrectangle-3-0');

if(typeof ez_ad_units != 'undefined')ez_ad_units.push([[300,250],'dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-box-4','ezslot_3',133,'0','0']);__ez_fad_position('div-gpt-ad-dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-box-4-0');Microsoft Windows 8.1 is sold via many different channels and there are a number of different activation mechanisms for Windows 8.1 depending on the type of license you are utilising.

In the vast majority of cases the "Home Edition" is "Windows 8.1" or "Windows 8.1 Single Language". If your system has this sticker try downloading these two .isos and if one of the .isos takes you to the license agreement during installation you have the correct "Edition".

if(typeof ez_ad_units != 'undefined')ez_ad_units.push([[300,250],'dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-leader-1','ezslot_7',136,'0','0']);__ez_fad_position('div-gpt-ad-dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-leader-1-0');If you have this sticker which looks like the following you likely have one of the with Bing Editions which are unfortunately not supported by the Microsoft Windows 8.1 Media Creation Tool:

if(typeof ez_ad_units != 'undefined')ez_ad_units.push([[250,250],'dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-large-mobile-banner-1','ezslot_8',137,'0','0']);__ez_fad_position('div-gpt-ad-dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-large-mobile-banner-1-0');If you have this sticker you likely have one of the following 2 editions:

In the vast majority of cases the "Professional Edition" is "Windows 8.1 Pro". If your system has this sticker try downloading this .iso and if the .iso takes you to the license agreement during installation you have the correct "Edition".

if(typeof ez_ad_units != 'undefined')ez_ad_units.push([[250,250],'dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-large-mobile-banner-2','ezslot_10',139,'0','0']);__ez_fad_position('div-gpt-ad-dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-large-mobile-banner-2-0');If your system is working you can determine your Windows Edition and the easiest way of determining what edition your product key is for is by right clicking the start button (or pressing [Windows] and [x]) and then selecting system:

if(typeof ez_ad_units != 'undefined')ez_ad_units.push([[300,250],'dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-leader-4','ezslot_13',141,'0','0']);__ez_fad_position('div-gpt-ad-dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-leader-4-0');If you purchased Windows separately from your computer:

It is therefore recommended you toss any Windows 8.0 installation DVDs in the bin. You may download a Windows 8.1 .iso using the Windows 8.1 media Creation Tool and this does not discriminate between Windows 8.0 and 8.1.

If you are the end user, you likely have a dedicated IT department handling this. If you are the dedicated IT department and want to know more about it, then contact Microsoft who will give you a custom quote:if(typeof ez_ad_units != 'undefined')ez_ad_units.push([[300,250],'dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-mobile-leaderboard-1','ezslot_15',145,'0','0']);__ez_fad_position('div-gpt-ad-dellwindowsreinstallationguide_com-mobile-leaderboard-1-0');

Thank you for the response. The "Windows 8.1 Core/Home" generic key you list doesn't work when I type it into the Windows8-Setup.exe program for downloading the iso. Any idea on how to get the iso so I can try reinstalling?

I tried using the generic product key of Win 8.1 and it actually was approved by the recovery media installer by windows, but when I've proceeded to the next step, it always states, "WE CAN't CONNECT RIGHT NOW. CHECK YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION AND TRY AGAIN LATER." Is there a problem?? My internet connection is just fine and has a fair speed of 3mpbs. =(

The generic serial key was approved by the recovery media installer by windows, but when I proceeded to the nxt step, it kept on stating, "WE CAN'T CONNECT RIGHT NOW. PLEASE CHECK YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION AND TRY AGAIN." I mean what's the problem? My internet connection is just fine. x.x

What are you trying to do?If installing with Windows 8.0 media you shouldn't have to enter a product key if its a Windows 8.0 key.If installing with Windows 8.1 media you will need to enter a generic Windows 8.1 product key to install if its a Windows 8.0 key.If installing with Windows 8.1 media you shouldn't have to enter a product key if its a Windows 8.1 key.If installing with Windows 8.0 media you will need to enter a generic Windows 8.0 product key to install if its a Windows 8.1 key.If you install with a generic product key after installation you need to use change key and activate with your Windows 8.0 key. If your license is OEM you need to find out the key with RW-Everything before going to change key.If updating from the Store you should not be prompted for a product key.If trying to download Windows 8.1 media then see here: -microsoft-windows-and-office/download-microsoft-windows/download-windows-8-1-iso/ 2ff7e9595c
