Important Information about macOS 10.13.4 updateWe have become aware that installing macOS release Version 10.13.4 will cause DisplayLink connected displays to go blank after the OS upgrade, with the current DisplayLink driver [4.1] installed. Functionality such as Ethernet and audio, where implemented, is unaffected. We have alerted Apple to this issue and are working hard to find a resolution. These features continue to work as expected in 10.13.3.

In the meantime, we have a new driver [4.3] that will enable clone mode, but not mirror or extended mode displays in 10.13.4. If you require mirror or extended mode displays, we recommend that you stay on macOS 10.13.3 or earlier at this time.

For users wishing to remain on macOS High Sierra, OS 10.13.3 will continue to offer the best experience. At this time, there is no indication that the fixes to macOS in 10.14.x will be backported to macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 through 10.13.6.

The loss of DisplayLink functionality in macOS 10.13.4 was incredibly disruptive for our customers, so please note that while these developments are promising, we are not changing our list of officially supported platforms at this time.

At this time, there are no updates for those running macOS High Sierra 10.13.4+ to re-enable full DisplayLink functionality. It is unknown if Apple will choose to restore this functionality to High Sierra, however it appears unlikely that they will do so. The DisplayLink driver version 4.3 is still available for 10.13.4+ users as a workaround.

Update: July 17, 2018DisplayLink has indicated they are still making progress on this issue, but there remains no complete solution to the macOS DisplayLink issue available for users of macOS version 10.13.4, 10.13.5, 10.13.6 or public beta versions of the next release of macOS 10.14 Mojave.

Recently we wrote that the beta version of the next release of macOS, version 10.13.4, would cause USB video adapters and USB docking stations based on DisplayLink technology to stop working. This only affects Mac users, it does not affect those running Windows or Chrome OS.

Are docks from other brands affected by this OS update?Yes, all brands of USB docking stations which use DisplayLink chips and drivers are affected. This includes Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Targus, Kensington, Anker, StarTech, etc. Regardless of brand, if the dock uses DisplayLink technology for graphics output, it will no longer function as expected after updating to macOS 10.13.4.

The problem is, if a product with a KEXT was installed via MDM in an earlier version of 10.13, where all KEXTs are whitelisted, when the user upgrades to 10.13.4, that 'approval' is no longer honored. MDM enrollments prior to 10.13.4 are converted to user-based enrollments, thus generating the prompt.

When you upgrade to the latest version of macOS 10.13.4 or launch Acrobat or Acrobat Reader for the first time on the latest versions of macOS High Sierra, you may see a warning message that indicates Adobe software needs to be optimized for better performance.

This limitation will impact users with a DisplayLink-enabled Kensington docking station (SD4700P, SD3650, SD3600, SD4000, or SD3500v), using a macOS (10.13.4) device and two DisplayLink-enabled USB graphics devices (i.e. external monitors).

MacOS 10.14 Mojave and the latest DisplayLink v5.0 driver fix the problem that had limited macOS High Sierra (10.13.4+) devices from full functionality with multiple DisplayLink-enabled USB graphics devices such as external monitors.

This release includes an update to our document model. If you open a local document using this version of the Mac app, it may lose data if someone with an earlier version of the Mac app opens it again. Workspace documents will be unavailable to open by anyone with an earlier version unless they download them first. Any changes they make will not update the Workspace document. For real-time collaboration, everyone will need to use the same version of the Mac app. 2ff7e9595c
